Website and technical delivery
This website provides information about the BrokenArk community. You do not need an account or registration to visit. There is no shopping cart or payment processing on this website.
Requests involve technically necessary connection data, such as IP address, requested address, time and browser information. The site runs on our VPS and is delivered through Cloudflare, which also processes connection data. The purpose is to provide and protect the service, based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Our web server does not keep routine access logs. Technical error logs may be generated for troubleshooting. Data are retained only as long as required for their purpose or legal obligations. See the Cloudflare privacy policy for information about its processing.
Cookies, fonts and embedded content
The public website does not set its own analytics or advertising cookies. Fonts are hosted locally. The editorial login area uses technically necessary session and CSRF cookies for authentication and form protection.
Discord is available through regular links. We do not embed a Discord widget, Discord scripts or avatars. Your browser connects directly to Discord only when you open a Discord link.
After confirmation, the ba_privacy cookie stores only your privacy choice for 180 days (path /, SameSite=Lax; Secure over HTTPS). It contains no user identifier. Open Cookie settings in the footer to view the saved state at any time. We use it to honour your chosen setting and avoid repeating the notice on every page; there is no analytics or profiling. Storing this requested preference is technically necessary.
The community calendar is retrieved on the server from our existing calendar source. Your browser does not connect to that source.
Discord and external services
Discord is our meeting place for announcements and support. Opening a link to Discord, Patreon, PayPal or our Spreadshop takes you to an external service. Each provider processes data under its own terms. Donations and orders are handled directly by those providers.
Email contact
If you contact us by email, we process the information you send to respond to your enquiry. The basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) for enquiries relating to a contract or steps before a contract. Messages are retained only as long as needed to handle the matter or meet legal obligations.
Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection. You may withdraw consent for future processing. Contact the email address above to exercise your rights.
You may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority if you believe your data protection rights have been infringed.

Artwork and AI
Our Ark banners and seasonal fantasy scenes are artistic AI illustrations, in some cases combined with the original BrokenArk brand elements. They depict fictional game worlds and are not authentic gameplay captures. New illustrations were created with OpenAI ImageGen; the operator has confirmed that the existing map headers are AI-generated. The original BrokenArk logos were also created with OpenAI ImageGen.
